SwissGlobe is an American-owned company that focuses on the mining sector. Founded in Oregon in the late 1990s by Swiss investors, we initially focused on financing small gold and copper mining projects. In the early 2000s, we bought shares in global industry leaders such as BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, and Southern Copper Corporation.

In 2011, we started experimenting with Bitcoin mining using FPGAs (field-programmable gate arrays) and switched to the first GPU-based mining rigs a few months later. By late 2013, we upgraded to the Bitmain Antminer S1, which was the very first ASIC Bitcoin miner on the market. We placed the devices in food-grade oil to reduce noise and lower energy costs. Today, we operate as a non-profit organization.
